• an thol o jee – a collection of stories.

i'm a displaced Texan living in England - go figure! Of all the places for me to end up, this was the last on my list. I married an english guy a while back and have been here for quite some time now. i know all the places that sell 'real' salsa and tomatillos, i am on a first name basis with most of them and if you have to ask what a tomatillo is, chances are you havent been to my home! (or texas for that matter). I have two cats and a dog - they are very attached to me. my dog, pablo, sleeps under my desk while i am working and the cats usually come and visit me several times a day, regardless of where i am in the house and i wouldnt have it any other way. I never use an alarm clark and rarely comb my hair in the morning. i hate being ordinary and i love making every day stuff beautiful. i love thinking outside the box and i hate limitations.

    I love dreamers.

I am a wedding photojournalist with a big heart for fine art portraiture - nothing makes me happier than photographing people while they react to one another or life situations naturally. You wont get cheesy smiles of everyone gathered to look square at the camera - in my eye, i see a glimpse of a smile or a special look or a reaction to something funny and that is what attracts me, real, natural, organic. of course i am not opposed to taking a few of those standard family group shots, heck, i even have a few on my website - i know that grandmas love those! but lets keep those to a minimum, ok?

here is my blog, a place where i write personal things and post personal work as well as my current weddings and portraits. bear with me, i am always behind . . . but i catch up sooner or later....

Saturday, May 12 was all about Susanna & Henry and their beautiful day at Pembroke Lodge, London

I have never photographed a wedding at Pembroke Lodge and kept thinking to myself why was this? This is an absolutely beautiful venue and I think it fit Henry & Susanna’s plans perfectly.

Take a look at their sneak peek . . .

Tee Time; Auberge du Lac, Brocket Hall.

Mark Challis and Sarah Ainger became a married couple on Sunday, April 8, 2012 with a tee time of 3:00.  Everyone was dressed to the nines and it is well documented that everyone had a splendid time, even the swans.

6 months and counting . . .

Romeo has made it to the 6 month old mark – not really a milestone for most dogs, but to a dog who eats everything he sees and has been to the vet more times in his 6 months on this earth than most dogs go in a lifetime, it is for him.  After losing Pablo so abruptly last October, I wasn’t sure I could bring another dog into our home and love him as much or even come close to what i had felt for Pablo, but I was wrong. Romeo has wiggled his way into not only our bed, but our hearts as well.  He has an unbelievable personality and while i understand that almost all puppies are irresistible, i am 100% sure that Romeo was the right choice and i passed over his brother for him for a reason.  Romeo was the ‘runt’ of the litter and much smaller than his brother (when it comes to dogs, I have an affinity for boys) and there were only two males in the litter so i didnt have much of a choice.  His brother was almost twice his size and much more excited to see me than he was, but something grabbed my heart and told me to go for the smaller more quiet one, the one with only half a moustache!  There is no doubt in my mind he was the right choice. He has become best friends with Raleigh and because they are pretty much the same size, there are no present problems when they play rough and tumble. They respect each other’s space so when Raleigh decides its time for a nap, they go their separate ways, but only for a short while because where one is, the other is sure to follow and Raleigh realizes Romeo will never be able to join him on the windowsill so he has taken to napping on the bed, where Romeo joins him.

so good for you little boy for making it to 6 months, please stop eating everything in site so i can have a rest from the vet bills!!!!!!!

I LOVE YOU MY LITTLE MOUSTACHE MAN!!!!!
