  • an thol o jee – a collection of stories.

i'm a displaced Texan living in England - go figure! Of all the places for me to end up, this was the last on my list. I married an english guy a while back and have been here for quite some time now. i know all the places that sell 'real' salsa and tomatillos, i am on a first name basis with most of them and if you have to ask what a tomatillo is, chances are you havent been to my home! (or texas for that matter). I have two cats and a dog - they are very attached to me. my dog, pablo, sleeps under my desk while i am working and the cats usually come and visit me several times a day, regardless of where i am in the house and i wouldnt have it any other way. I never use an alarm clark and rarely comb my hair in the morning. i hate being ordinary and i love making every day stuff beautiful. i love thinking outside the box and i hate limitations.

I am a wedding photojournalist with a big heart for fine art portraiture - nothing makes me happier than photographing people while they react to one another or life situations naturally. You wont get cheesy smiles of everyone gathered to look square at the camera - in my eye, i see a glimpse of a smile or a special look or a reaction to something funny and that is what attracts me, real, natural, organic. of course i am not opposed to taking a few of those standard family group shots, heck, i even have a few on my website - i know that grandmas love those! but lets keep those to a minimum, ok?

    I love dreamers.

so here is my blog, a place where i write personal things and post personal work as well as my current weddings and portraits. bear with me, i am always behind . . . but i catch up sooner or later....

Family Portrait Session in Hertfordshire – Bobbie’s Toddler Photographs

Samantha and David Have been one of my closest and most favorite clients. I am beginning to feel like part of the family.  I have photographed their engagement, wedding, maternity, new born, and now their first born’s toddler pictures.  Its hard not to have them amongst my favorites!  I have thoroughly enjoyed watching how their family is progressing, but I also have to remind myself that they have moved to Florida, I probably will not be their first choice for family photographs any longer . . .

Hertfordshire Family Photographer

Tim & Annette became Mr. & Mrs. at Alexander House!

I was very happy and proud to be the photographer at Tim & Annette’s wedding yesterday. The venue was the most beautiful Alexander House, set out amidst the blooming flowers and lush landscaping, it was a beautiful calm and peaceful day. You couldn’t ask for better weather and in England, that is saying a lot!

Please join me in viewing the sneak peek of their June 1 wedding . . .

Sunday : Fresh from the Oven : Flourless (Gluten free) Blueberry Muffins, low calorie goodness!

No Sunday morning is complete without the warm, aromatic scent of fresh baked goods. My newest love, flourless and sugarfree blueberry muffins.  These muffins contain no sugar, no sugar substitutes and no flour.  What they do contain is warm and flavorful Canadian Maple Syrup, banana and big blueberries bursting with flavor!

my recipe:

2 1/2 cups ground oats

2 medium eggs

tsp pure vanilla

tsp cinnamon

1 medium banana

300 grams fresh blueberries

1.2 tsp baking powder

.5 tsp baking soda

80 ml pure Canadian Maple Syrup

grind oats to fine powder, throw in a bowl, mix with baking powder and baking soda.  mix wet ingredients, combine gently with dry ingredients, add blueberries. Gently stir until just mixed, pour in muffin cups and bake for 17 minutes at 190c (350f).

each delicious muffin contains approx. 142 kcal.

A Westminster Day of Romance

Where Paul married Linda.  It has to be one of the most surreal venues I have been too!  Couples saying their vows in 4 different suits, it is a whirl of emotions throughout the building.

Jerry and his Bride said their vows amongst close friends and family. It was a special day, it was a perfect day.

This is the first couple I have photographed who saw each other before the ceremony – isnt she absolutely beautiful?

They chose to walk in together, a refreshing change

this is one of my favorite photos from the entire day!

This is one happy Groom!

The excitement of the day can clearly be seen in her expression!

Rushing off to change, then its off to the reception venue!

A romantic affair in Ipswich

William & Ye tied the knot in front of a few friends and family in a historic building in Ipswich. From there, they all gathered at The Old Neptune Inn for champagne, food and talk!
